NBC wants to get deeper into the fairy-tale business. The network, which already airs "Grimm," has ordered a pilot called "Wonderland" that's a contemporary update of "Alice in Wonderland."

"CSI" creator Anthony Zuiker (inset, above) is among the executive producers of the pilot, written by Whit Anderson. The story follows Clara, whose life has been a wreck for the past seven years. A stranger tells her that the solution to her problems lies in Wonderland, where she'll have to take on the land's queen -- whom we all know as Alice.

Other pilot-season news:

- "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star Jeff Garlin has signed on to ABC's "How the Hell Am I Normal," a family comedy set in the 1980s. Garlin and Wendi McLendon-Covey play hot-tempered but loving parents to three kids. Former "X Factor" contestant Hayley Orrantia has also joined the pilot, will play one of their kids. [Deadline]
