Exclusive: Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s Jeff Garlin is set to star opposite Wendi McLendon-Covey in ABC’s single-camera comedy pilot How the Hell Am I Normal, written by Adam Goldberg and to be directed by Seth Gordon. Also cast in the project, inspired by Goldberg’s experience growing up in the ’80s with a highly screwed up but loving family, is Hayley Orrantia. How The Hell Am I Normal is a family comedy set in the ’80s that centers on in-your-face mother Beverly (McLendon-Covey) and hot-tempered father Murray (Garlin) who love their three eccentric kids so much, they can’t bear to see them grow up. Gruff but loveable, for Murray calling you a “moron” is how he parents. A rageaholic, Murray struggles to stay calm after his last heart attack upon a stern warning by his doctor.
