An 11-year-old schoolboy faked his own kidnapping to avoid a parents' evening. The son of a Spanish police officer lives in Xinzo de Limia, Spain, and sparked a nationwide search with the hoax. The Guardian reports that the unnamed boy texted his father to say he had been snatched off the street while putting out rubbish, and later phoned to say he was locked in the boot of a blue Seat car.
