Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired North American distribution rights to "Mother of George," Andrew Dosunmu's film about a couple's struggles to conceive a child. The film premiered Jan. 18 at Sundance, prompting the New York Times' Manohla Dargis to laud it as "visually splendid" and Entertainment Weekly's Owen Gleiberman as "dazzingly shot." Dosunmu's film stars Danai Gurira as Adenike and Isaach De Bankole as Ayodele, the owner of a Nigerian restaurant in Brooklyn.
