Dave Grohl has said that he and his former bandmates were so in awe of Paul McCartney they "forgot about Nirvana". Grohl, bassist Krist Novoselic and guitarist Pat Smear played with McCartney at the recent relief concert for victims of the Sandy hurricane. The four also recorded their new track together at the Sound City Studio, as part of Grohl's documentary about the legendary recording studio where Nirvana's Nevermind and Fleetwood Mac's Rumours were recorded. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Grohl said of the trio's initial meeting with McCartney: "That day was really funny, because honestly, Krist [Novoselic] and Pat [Smear] had never met Paul before and they were very nervous - they were terrified.
