The Walt Disney Company confirmed on Friday evening that director J.J. Abrams would direct the new "Star Wars" movie, which TheWrap first reported on Thursday. In a news release the studio, which last year bought Lucasfilm, announced: "J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars: Episode VII, the first of a new series of Star Wars films to come from Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy.
