After airing just two episodes of the show’s second season so far, HBO has officially renewed Lena Dunham’s Golden Globe-winning comedy series “Girls” for a third season.The network announced Jan. 25 that it has ordered 12 episodes for Season 3, up from 10-episode orders for each of the first two seasons.The news is hardly a surprise, especially following the show’s recent Golden Globe wins for Best Television Series (Comedy or Musical) and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series (Comedy) for Dunham, the show’s creator and star. Dunham actually broke the news herself earlier this week during an interview with Alec Baldwin for his “Here’s the Thing” podcast, when she revealed that production on the third season is set to begin in March.
