Casting announcements are rolling out for "Dexter's" eighth season, which returns in just a few short months since it is now moving away from its normal fall schedule slot.

Charlotte Rampling was announced as a neuro-psychiatrist specializing in child psychopaths and now Sean Patrick Flanery has joined the cast as well. Deadline reports that Flanery will be playing Jacob Elroy, "the ex-cop owner of a private investigation company in Miami."

Flanery is perhaps best known as Connor MacManus in "The Boondock Saints." He can also be seen as the title character on "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" and in the movie "Suicide Kings."

There is no word as to exactly how Rampling or Flanery's characters will fit into the Season 8 storyline. Any theories?

"Dexter" will return early this year, on Sunday, July 30, being used as a lead-in to new Showtime drama "Ray Donovan." »
