News: According to The Wrap, J.J. Abrams will direct the new Star Wars film.

Thoughts by Tsr: After being successfully courted by Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams is the guy who will direct Star Wars: Episode VII. I guess this makes sense, doesn’t it? I was skeptical that he’d be chosen, what with being behind Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, but J.J. Abrams does seem like a good fit for the Star Wars universe. The Wrap was told that Argo’s Ben Affleck was also in the running. I’m glad he didn’t get it because I’d much rather see Affleck continue making the types of films he’s doing.
