Some fascinating new information has come to light regarding Zack Snyder’s forthcoming Superman reboot, Man Of Steel.

First up are details that the MPAA have announced the superhero origin adventure has received a PG-13 rating “for intense sequences of sci-fi violence, action and destruction, and for some language”. That suggests we in the UK will see the film given a 12A certificate.

We then have news that the beloved cult character of Jimmy Olsen is to be given a gender makeover. Olsen appeared in the DC comics as The Daily Planet photographer and sidekick to Clark Kent, who featured in all the previous big-screen efforts (portrayed by Marc McClure in the Christopher Reeve blockbusters and Sam Huntington in Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns). It is now understood the character will now be named Jenny Olsen and will be played by rising young actress Rebecca Buller.
