Here are the films nominated for Best Picture: Amour, Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook, Zero Dark Thirty. Nine. Could have had 10. But only nine got enough first-place votes to earn the nomination. And all of them are fine choices. Okay, that’s not true. They’re really not all fine choices. A couple of them are seriously problematic or wildly wrong, but you can go read my reviews to figure out which ones I mean. If I ran the universe Amour would win but I don’t and it won’t.
