For a while there, a sequel to Kick-Ass was looking somewhat uncertain, especially after Matthew Vaughn started moving on to bigger things (ie. X-Men: First Class). But eventually Universal was able to re-assemble the original cast with a new director at the helm: Jeff Wadlow (Never Back Down). Now production has wrapped and Kick-Ass 2 is on track to hit theatres this June. The first official photo from the movie was released this week courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. They didn't put it online for some reason, but it was scanned in courtesy of Popculturology. The image shows Aaron Taylor-Johnson back in the lead role along with Jim Carrey as a new character named Colonel Stars (yes, they're clearly standing on Yonge Street in Toronto). I'm still not sure that the sequel can live up to the original, but this photo definitely has my curiosity piqued. Kick-Ass 2 hits theatres on »
