The controversial ‘Django Unchained’ action figures have officially been pulled from shelves, TMZ is reporting. The discontinuation of the toys comes after several African American groups called for a boycott of the dolls, which were based on the characters from writer-director Quentin Tarantino’s acclaimed hit film. The dolls’ discontinuation comes after The Weinstein Company, which produced the western action drama, received complaints from such advocacy groups as Al Sharpton’s National Action Network and Project Islamic Hope. The film studio then reached out to the toy company, and told them to stop the toy line as soon as possible.
