Despite a valiant effort, the TV gods have failed to prevent AMC from resurrecting The Killing after it was deservedly given the axe six months ago. After interest sprung up in bringing back the technically canceled series on the subscription streaming service Netflix, AMC managed to find within itself the desire to return The Killing to it’s schedule. I’m not sure what game AMC is playing at when they made this decision; The Killing went on a steady ratings decline after the first season failed to deliver on the promise of revealing the identity of the murderer of Rosie Larsen, which is what led to the initial cancellation. So what’s changed?

Well, according to the Hollywood Reporter, it came down to money. The Killing is produced by Fox TV Studios and is then licensed to AMC. Once that licensing fee was reduced and the budget for the series was suitably cut, »
