David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook is one of the most acclaimed films of 2012, picking up an impressive eight nods in last week’s Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director.

It’s the first film in years to earn a nomination in each of the four acting categories – Best Actor for Bradley Cooper, Best Actress for Jennifer Lawrence, Supporting Actor for Robert De Niro, and Supporting Actress for Jacki Weaver – and it’s no surprise that it’s been a success for The Weinstein Company at the box office as well.

Released in the Us just over two months ago, it’s continuing its impressive run in the States, and is predicted to break into the top 5 at theatres this weekend, which is a very nice feat for a film that’s been out for two months.
