The Dwayne Johnson-starring film "Hercules" is really happening, and it's finally found itself a release date. MGM and Paramount Pictures have revealed that we only have to wait until next year to see The Rock's take on the famous Greek hero.

"Hercules" is set to be released on August 8, 2014. It will be directed by Brett Ratner, who took over sometime after Peter Berg left the project. Ryan Condol wrote the script based on the Radical Publishing comic book series "The Thracian Wars" and "The Knives of Kush," both of which were written by Steve Moore and drawn by Cris Bolsin.
