2013. Or “the year of the sequels,” as it seems to be panning out. 2013 will see the release of multiple sequels to many popular blockbusters, some of which I didn’t have room for in this list, including The Hangover III, and Grown Ups 2. Given the number of high profile movies slated for release, I wouldn’t be surprised if 2013 broke all the box office records for highest-grossing films.
Of course, it won’t all be about the big box office hits. Various critically acclaimed directors such as Martin Scorsese and Alfonso Cuaron will be putting their contributions on the table this year. 2013, also sees the expansion of the already huge, superhero craze, and this ever expanding genre continues to keep growing with no fewer than four major superhero blockbusters slated for release in 2013.
