Yes, this post’s title may evoke a startling image, but get your head out of the gutter! According to sources, Emma Stone is in talks to headline Guillermo Del Toro’s next project, the ghost story Crimson Peak. Emma Stone, of course, has blown up in Hollywood since Superbad, with roles in Zombieland, The Amazing Spider-man, Easy A, The Help, and The Gangster Squad. It’s not a sure thing, but we’ll confirm this when, well, when it’s confirmed… or denied.
Crimson Peak is supposed to be a classic ghost tale with a modern retelling, whatever that means. I certainly don’t get the title, which, to me, insinuates Pierce Brosnan on a nuclear missile sub, or Gene Hackman climbing a mountain. Del Toro wrote the script along with Matthew Robbins and Lucinda Coxon. The production is supposed to start February 2014. »
