New distributor A24 has acquired U.S. rights to Sofia Coppola’s new film “The Bling Ring,” starring Emma Watson, for a June release. The collaboration is unsurprising since the company is set to release “Bling Ring” producer (and Sofia’s brother) Roman Coppola’s latest film, “A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III” in February. Based on Nancy Jo Sales’ Vanity Fair article “The Suspects Wore Louboutins,” “Bling Ring” tells the real-life story of a group of rich kids from the San Fernando Valley who went nearly a year robbing celebrities’ homes before getting caught. Leslie Mann, Gavin Rossdale, Paris Hilton (who was one of those robbed), Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Claire Julien and Taissa Farmiga co-star.
