For a number of years now, cult and horror film festival GrimmFest has seen fans around the country flock to Manchester during the month of October to see some of their genre favourites back on the big-screen, filtered in between a number previews of upcoming efforts. Each year, the festival has gotten bigger with a host of major films and guests descending on the city and vying for their spot in the gore-filled limelight. The event, which Thn covered for the first time last year, has been such a success that a ‘spin-off’ series of double-bills are planned for 2013.

These begin on the 23rd January at the Dancehouse Theatre with a special and intense showing of Tobe Hooper’s 1974 macabre masterpiece, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
