Jessica Simpson is to star in a new sitcom based on her life. The singer / actress is developing the project at NBC, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The pilot episode is based on a pitch from Nick and Robin Bakay. Writer and actor Nick Bakay penned the recent Kevin James movies Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Zookeeper, but is also known for voicing Salem the cat on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. "We are thrilled to team up with the multi-talented Jessica Simpson to bring this new sitcom to life on NBC," said Ben Silverman, founder and chairman of production company Electus.
