Though it seems that Steven Spielberg will be storming the gates with his new movie “Lincoln,” there is another project that has the potential to do the same albeit without the Academy: “Jurassic Park 4.”

Now this newest installment of the prehistoric franchise will have its date of destiny, June 13, 2014. Besides setting the time for release, Universal Studios has made it a point to release it in 3D. Coincidentally, the original “Jurassic Park” will be re-released in 3D as well as for April. Spielberg though seems to be busy, having put “Robopocalypse” on hold for the time being for retooling.

With Spielberg now on the project, will the franchise reach the heights that were set by the first movie, but later less so with other successive ventures? It will be interesting to see what else writers can cook up in terms of plot to keep the franchise feeling fresh.
