Remember "Original Gangstas," the 1996 action flick that brought together such '70s-era exploitation stars as Fred Williamson, Pam Grier and Jim Brown? "Gangsta Squad" sports an even greater ensemble dream cast, one that would've inspired the late, great Isaac Hayes to record an entire album of theme songs.

50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Dmx and Lil Kim invade 1940s Hollywoodland in this else-world variation on "Gangster Squad," brought to life by our go-to partner in crime, Old Red Jalopy. Actually, "Gangsta Squad" would've made quite a splash 15 years ago as the unofficial companion piece to Hype Williams' dreamlike crime drama, "Belly," in which a pair of gangsters (played by Nas and, wouldn't you know it, Dmx) have spiritual awakenings. Alas.

Check out the poster below and imagine how amazing the soundtrack album would be. Meanwhile, "Gangster Squad" opens Jan. 11.
