Oscar nominations were doled out early Thursday morning by Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone, with Jennifer Lawrence and Jessica Chastain among those with a chance at taking home the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Quvenzhané Wallis, Naomi Watts and Emmanuelle Riva were also nominated in the category.

Lawrence plays Tiffany in "Silver Linings Playbook." This year's nod marks her second -- she was also nominated for "Winter's Bone" in 2011. Chastain stars as the pivotal CIA analyst in "Zero Dark Thirty," Kathryn Bigelow's much-debated film on the hunt for Osama bin Laden.

Wallis, who is just 9 years old, set a record as the youngest actress to ever compete in the category.

MacFarlane will host the awards broadcast on Feb. 24, when he'll be joined by many of Hollywood's biggest names. Oscar winners are chosen by members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Academy is made up of working professionals in cinema. »
