Popular BBC One drama Death in Paradise returned to screens with its biggest ever audience last night. The second series premiere of the crime comedy drama, climaxing with the resolution of a murder mystery, pulled in 6.86m (26.6%) for BBC One in the 9pm hour. The show, starring Danny John-Jules, Ben Miller and Sara Martins, averaged exactly the same audience as ITV had for new Sunday night hit Mr Selfridge. Meanwhile on ITV1, a celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire? entertained 3.3m (13.8%) at 8pm (+1: 126k), not far in front of BBC Two's Stargazing Live which took 2.98m (11.8%).
