Breaking: Oscarcast host and Ted director Seth MacFarlane will be joined by Emma Stone to announce the Oscar nominations on Thursday. This marks the fist time since 1972 that an Oscar host has been in on the noms announcement; Charlton Heston did the honors that time. Stone is about to open in Gangster Squad. This nominations announcement will be particularly intriguing because there are so many worthy aspirants for the major categories including Best Picture, Best Director, script, foreign film and the four acting categories. Somebody’s gonna feel snubbed for sure, and I think this is the first time in a while voters could actually fill the 10 Best Picture slots without too much complaining.
