2012 was a fantastic year for Joss Whedon and his ever-expanding legions of fans. Is it possible for 2013 to be even better? Many signs point to yes: There’s a sequel to “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” in the works, and “Much Ado About Nothing” will hit theaters this spring. But here at The Weekly Whedon, the thing that’s got us most excited is, of course, “S.H.I.E.L.D.,” which is scheduled to begin production this month.

Jill Pantozzi, associate editor at TheMarySue.com and a Whedonite since the “Buffy” movie, also singles out “S.H.I.E.L.D.” as the project she’s most anticipating. “I’m a comic fan through and through,” says Pantozzi, “and I’m really interested in seeing how that world translates on television.”
