'Dallas' exec on Jr funeral episode: 'I cried while writing it'
New details have emerged regarding Jr Ewing's Dallas departure. Showrunner Cynthia Cidre was forced to write Jr out of the TNT drama, following the death of actor Larry Hagman, who had played the ruthless oil tycoon since 1978. "I started to type, and I started crying so hard I couldn't even see the computer screen," Cidre told Entertainment Weekly. Hagman had filmed five new Dallas episodes prior to his death, with a deleted scene from an earlier episode to now be inserted into episode six. Episode seven will then explore Jr's absence, while the following week's instalment will focus on the character's funeral. "It will be funny and appropriate to Jr," Cidre said of the funeral (more)
