Almost four weeks prior to its Sundance debut, "jOBS," starring Ashton Kutcher as Apple visionary Steve Jobs, has been scooped up for distribution by Open Road Films. Variety reports that the company is in "advanced negotiations" to distribute, and will release the film wide through the AMC and Regal theater chains, likely in the second half of 2013. "jOBS," directed by Joshua Michael Stern and from a script by newcomer Matt Whitely, is one of two Jobs biopics in the pipeline. The other film, currently untitled, is set up through Sony and has Oscar-winner Aaron Sorkin working on a script. Check out our side-by-side comparison of what we know about the two projects here. "jOBS" premieres at Sundance late in the festival, on January 27. With the Open Road pickup, it won't matter that most of the fest attendees will have decamped by the film's debut. »
