With rumors of an imminent departure clogging gossip sites, “…Baby One More Time” songstress Britney Spears may not get “one more time” on Fox’s The X Factor — proving that A-list power doesn’t automatically equal ratings gold.
The British reality import has had anything but a stable two seasons on American TV, going through major overhauls after just one season. The first season saw judges Simon Cowell, who is also a co-creator of the series, and record producer L.A. Reid joined by Fox’s American Idol alum Paula Abdul and ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, only to see the ladies leave at the end of the season.
