I've heard people claim that 2012 was a fabulous year for movies, but I can't even say I'm a fan of the critical darlings: Silver Linings Playbook? More like Mental Illness Vaudeville. Lincoln? Was damn dry. And Anna Karenina was somewhat staid, Beasts of the Southern Wild was cloying, and Zero Dark Thirty was grossly inaccurate. Not my favorite year for Oscar anticipation, I can assure you of that.

But those movies are nothing compared to these stinkers. Film.com patched together a compilation of the year's worst films and cleverly tricked the movies into reviewing themselves. My personal favorites in the group are Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, This Means War, and Battleship. Oh my God, Battleship. One look at Rihanna behind that gun, and I vomited in hysterics like a blooper from the "We Found Love" video.

Did you have a favorite bad movie of the year? Is Dark Shadows still a touchy subject? »
