Ben Affleck has opened up about the lowest point of his career following his split from Jennifer Lopez. The Academy Award winner was the object of ridicule in the press for much of 2003 and 2004, amid the box office and critical failure of the couple's film Gigli. Affleck described that period of his life as demoralizing in a new interview with GQ "At the time, I knew on some level, 'This is insane'," he recalled. "What was that guy's name who killed his wife and dumped her off the side of a boat? Peterson. I remember thinking he actually gets slightly better treatment than I do in the press.
