Hugh Jackman has said that he owes his movie career to Russell Crowe. The Australian actor told The Graham Norton Show that he was grateful his countryman Crowe rejected the part of Wolverine in Bryan Singer's X-Men adaptation. "We are great mates and I actually owe my career to him because he turned down Wolverine," he explained. Jackman reprised the role in sequels X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, as well as spinoff X-Men Origins: Wolverine and an uncredited cameo in last year's Matthew Vaughn-helmed prequel X-Men: First Class.
