Emmerdale actress Natalie Anderson has confirmed that she has signed a new one-year contract with the soap after her maternity leave. The actress, who plays Alicia Metcalfe, also revealed that her character may have a new love interest in the New Year. Anderson told the Daily Star that she was thrilled to sign her new contract, adding: "I would happily stay in Emmerdale for as long as they will have me." When Alicia returns to the Yorkshire dales after being let out of prison she has no idea her husband is dating Priya Sharma. She finds out about David's secret relationship when she discovers a present that she at first thinks is for her. However, when she sees Priya wearing it she realises that they are together. The actress said that there is no fighting and screaming in the scenes where she confronts the pair about their secret relationship. »
