While Billy Crystal was an absolute bore at the Academy Awards this year (I actually had to look up who hosted the show because I completely forgot), there was one award show host during the 2011 season who actually did a pretty damn good job: Seth Rogen at the Independent Spirit Awards. While the show is certainly not as high profile as the Oscars or even the Golden Globes, Rogen began his night as the master of ceremonies by delivering a monologue that was both smart and funny, skewering celebrities and the events and movies of the last year.
