Jon Stewart's first few years on The Daily Show were not so nice, turns out. In a lengthy onstage interview with Stephen Colbert at Montclair, New Jersey's Wellmont Theater on Friday, Stewart recounted his near-quitting experience. "What I did not realize is, a lot of the people who worked there were assholes," Stewart said of a serious creative deadlock that exploded on day one. Stewart called his agent, saying, "Get me the fuck out of this. These people are insane." After two and a half years and a "natural winnowing process," everything turned out okay. The end. »
