Author and screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis has sparked a Twitter uproar by claiming director Kathryn Bigelow ("Zero Dark Thirty") receives overblown praise because she's a cool, sexy woman. -Insertgroups:11- He Tweeted: "Kathryn Bigelow would be considered a mildly interesting filmmaker if she was a man. But since she's a very hot woman she's really overrated." MSN film critic Glenn Kenny fired back: "@BretEastonEllis would be considered a mildly interesting writer if he was a mildly interesting writer." Ellis came to fame in 1985 with zietgiest novel "Less Than Zero" about a lost generation of young hipsters in Los Angeles. His last success was a book published more than 20 years ago, "American Psycho," about a sexy serial killer portrayed on film in 2000 by Christian Bale.
