The 1995 film about a board-game-turned-real-life-adventure is about to get a facelift. THR reports that Zach Helm, the writer behind 2006’s Will Ferrell-fronted Stranger Than Fiction, will pen the reimagining of Jumanji for Columbia. Based on the Chris Van Allsburg book first published in 1981, the original Jumanji film starred Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst and Bonnie Hunt as players whose innocent board game play has real-life consequences. There is no word yet on when production will begin or if any of the original actors will appear in the remake. »
