Looks like Fox and director Bryan Singer are intent on merging their two “X-Men” franchises — the three “X-Men” films (two of which Singer directed) and “X-Men: First Class” by Matthew Vaughn — into one coherent universe. To do that, they’re looking at merging the cast of one franchise with another. After adding Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen to “X-Men: Days of Future Past” — the two men expected to reprise their Professor X and Magneto characters — along with Jackman — reprising Wolverine — Singer and the studio are now in negotiations with Halle Berry and James Marsden to also return. In the two Singer “X-Men” films (and the third movie directed by Brett Ratner), Berry played Storm, who can control the weather, while Marsden played Cyclops, who can shoot laser beams out of his eyes.
