Reviewing the nominations for the 55th annual Grammy Awards, one of our top music awards experts had the following thoughts:  The Good The various nominations for the Black Keys are very well deserved. "El Camino" is one of the strongest albums of the eligibility period. Plus, the album dropped in late 2011 so it's always nice when voters remember "old albums." There's a lot of diversity in the general field. You have pop (Taylor Swift, Fun., Carly Rae Jepsen, Kelly Clarkson), rock (Black Keys, Jack White), folk (Mumford and Sons, Ed Sheeran) and R&B (Frank Ocean, Miguel). The Best New Artist category is full of very talented artists. There isn't a single dud in that lineup.  Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and One Direction were rightfully snubbed. Their material just wasn't awards worthy The Bad Some categories (e.g. Traditional Pop Vocal Album, Urban Contemporary R&B Album) only have three nominees. »
