The Palm Springs International Film Festival is honoring Sally Field with its Career Achievement Award on January 5 during the awards gala for its 24th edition. In addition to Field, the gala will honor the cast of Ben Affleck's "Argo," Helen Hunt ("The Sessions"), Naomi Watts ("The Impossible") and Robert Zemeckis ("Flight").  The Festival runs January 3-14. Festival chairman Harolz Matzner states that Field, “From her all-American girl roles that brought her early stardom on television to her memorable and award-winning film performances,..has impressed generations of audiences with her incredible range.” He adds that she gives a compelling performance playing the iconic Mary Todd Lincoln in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln."
