Damian Lewis has admitted that he wouldn't be surprised if his Homeland character Nicholas Brody was killed off. The actor told Entertainment Weekly that the Homeland writing team's willingness to take risks keeps the show "exciting" for its cast. "Part of the talent of this writing room is that they're not afraid to kill the sacred cow," he suggested. "They're prepared to be bold in their storytelling. Who knows if they've got any more story up their sleeves but it's been a thrilling ride!" Lewis also acknowledged that there were concerns among the Homeland cast and crew about "not being able to top" the Emmy-winning first season. "I know the writers were concerned," he said.
