Presumably done reeling from his success with The Avengers and all the glory that making a billion dollar box office smash brings to a ginger-haired bald guy, Joss Whedon has reportedly started work on the sequel, the tentatively titled The Avengers 2. The latest is that Whedon has handed in his outline to Kevin Fiege, the President of Production and all-round bigshot over at Marvel. Picture him like Scrooge McDuck, bathing in gold coins.

Yes, the Buffy creator has started his journey on the sequel – which is set for a 2015 release date – after having unexpectedly directed the third highest-grossing movie of all-time, a movie which pits a bickering team of costume-clad superheroes against an alien race who fly out a sky portal to attack New York.
