I don't think we have to worry about spoiling The Dark Knight Rises at this point do we? Well just in case, if you haven't seen it yet - spoilers ahead! One of the final shots in the movie sees Alfred (Michael Caine) glimpse Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale), and a slightly out of focus Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) in the cafe he always imagined his surrogate son retiring to when he gave up the cape and cowl. Some have taken this to mean that the old butler was simply seeing what he wanted to, and that Bruce had in fact perished in the explosion as the world believed he had - a vision of his soul finally at peace if you will. Of course that's not the most popular take on it, and it's certainly not one shared by Caine. "They were there. They were real. There was no imagination. »
