Warner Bros is planning to release Guillermo Del Toro's "Pacific Rim" sci-fi film on July 12th, 2013. But now comes word that the studio has hired Travis Beacham, who wrote the script for the first movie, to begin work on the sequel. "Pacific Rim" centers on a defense force consisting of giant robots controlled by human pilots, who are fighting to save humanity from gigantic monsters invading from an another dimension. Del Toro will co-write the sequel script with Beacham. It's not clear if he once again plans to direct. On Monday, the helmer committed to directing the haunted-house movie "Crimson Peak," which will go in front of cameras in January 2014. »
