In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Joss Whedon revealed that he's preparing to shoot the pilot episode of Marvel's "Shield" TV series. He also said that he just turned in an outline for the 2015 "The Avengers" sequel. The studio has set "The Avengers 2" for May 1st, 2015 and will likely go into production around April of 2014. Since Whedon just submitted an outline, it will give him over a year to put together a script. While very little is known about the story, it's rumored that Thanos will be the main villain, as hinted by the post-credits scene in "The Avengers." Casting has yet to be announced, but Robert Downey, Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson are all expected to return. »
