2004′s indie science fiction drama Primer left many people scratching their heads long after the movie had ended, displaying a strong understanding of the complexities of time travel and a plot that took many turns, but all tied together in the end. While it was not seen by many, it still ended up on a few best of the decade lists, an impressive feat for the film’s writer and director Shane Carruth, who made his filmmaking debut with the feature. Many people thus anticipated his follow-up feature, and there was much excitement when it was announced that his newest project, titled Upstream Color, would make its debut at Sundance 2013. Carruth once again takes on writing and directing duties, as well as co-starring in the feature. The first trailer for the film has now been released, and can be seen below.
