It looks like Peter Parker has found his best bud as Chronicle’s Dane DeHaan signs on for the role of Harry Osborne in the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man.

DeHaan soared into Hollywood’s radar with his performance in the super-hero(ish) found-footage film, Chronicle, followed by roles in other attention-getting films like Lawless and Lincoln. Now, he’s stepping back into the world of heroes as Peter Parker’s best friend, Harry Osborn.

Although Jamie Foxx has signed on for the role of the villain, Electro, for Spidey to tangle with in his second big-screen outing, we all knew Harry would have to be introduced fairly quickly because it’s just not Spidey without Harry and the Green Goblin.

DeHaan had a powerful screen presence in Chronicle and I’m looking forward to seeing how his Harry Osborne differs from the character portrayed by James Franco in the Sam Raimi trilogy. »
