The world waits anxiously for a return to Middle-earth filled with goblins, wizards and dwarves in the first of Peter Jackson’s Lord Of The Rings prequel trilogy The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The Kiwi director is again behind the camera of all three films shot back-to-back, this after New Line Cinema and MGM’s legal problems forced original choice Guillermo del Toro to walk away from the project.

Like them or not, Jackson’s films are fairly faithful to J.R.R. Tolkein’s doorstop-heavy source novels and despite their haters, the Lord Of The Rings trilogy are acclaimed, Oscar-winning epic works of art. I think it’s safe to say The Hobbit prequels will be more of the same and we have a closer look with six new clips from the first film, which finally hits cinemas next week.
