Gregg Araki's White Bird already brings together a number of talented young performers, including The Descendant's Shailene Woodley, Shiloh Fernandez and Gabourey Sidibe, but now another is about to join their ranks. Jacob Artist, best known for starring as Jake Puckerman this year on the hit Fox television series Glee, has taken a part in the upcoming indie drama. Variety says that the film will follow a "troubled young woman (who will be played by Woodley) who sees her life start to fall apart when her mother (Eva Green) suddenly disappears. Artist will play opposite Woodley, playing the protagonist's love interest who joins her to college. The rest of the cast includes Christopher Meloni, Angela Bassett, Mark Indelicato and Dale Dickey, though no details about their individual characters is known at this time.
